Full Job Description

The post holder is responsible for gathering and providing information for external auditors to ensure compliance with their areas of statutory responsibility. Responsible for monitoring and evaluating service compliance with information governance and CQC standards. Develop and maintain databases to record and report on the: · Availability of clinical records · FOI requests · Formal access requests · Storage of records Provide quarterly reports to the Head of Information Rights and Compliance. Provide specialist advice and guidance to all levels of staff on the, The post holder is responsible for gathering and providing information for external auditors to ensure compliance with their areas of statutory responsibility. Provide specialist advice and guidance to all levels of staff on the: · Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI), · Environmental Information Regulations 2000 (EIR) · Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) · Access to Health Records Act (1990) · Records management standards (both corporate & clinical) · NHS Code of Confidentiality Provide advice to members of the public (including service users and carers) who may need assistance with an information request. Raise awareness of the importance of information access and transparency throughout the Trust and encourage all members of staff to participate in raising information transparency standards. Ensure that the confidentiality, security and integrity of all information are maintained across the Trust. Explain new practices and changes that are required as a result of the implementation of changes to legislation and national standards. Undertake an ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the information rights process and implement further refinements as necessary. Assist in the development and (where relevant) publication of Trust wide policies in their area of experience. Development and delivery of effective training for staff at all levels in order to ensure that high standards for information transparency are implemented across the Trust. Leadership and Staff Management Responsibility The post holder will be expected to provide specialist training and support to colleagues and trust staff as required. The post holder will receive at least monthly supervision with the Head of Information Rights and Compliance. To effectively line manage the Information Rights Officers and Assistants and to support their continued professional development including:

  • + Providing a supportive environment for staff + Leading and motivating staff + Assess training needs and ensure that staff receive appropriate training, support and development, PDP's and CPD development + Undertake regular supervision sessions with line staff and manage staff performance + Manage sickness and absence in accordance with Trust policy + Undertake first line disciplinary procedures in accordance with Trust policy + Provide safe working environment for the protection of staff, ensure equipment used is fit for purpose and maintained; comply with health and safety policies and ensure staff undertake mandatory training Update knowledge of new developments in legislation surrounding care records management systems technologies, Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004.

  • Degree or equivalent experience, Relevant professional qualification e.g., Records Management, ISEB, BCS Freedom of Information qualification, ISEB/BCS Data Protection Act qualification, Experience of managing people
  • Experiencing of re - ordering stock/goods from an agreed point/supplier on a regular basis
  • Evidence of influencing, motivating, and negotiating with others to achieve change
  • Evidence of training individuals and groups
  • Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing projects, Specialist knowledge of Records Management including retention & disposal, archiving, appraisal of records
  • Experience of the information governance agenda, and CQC requirements
