Full Job Description
An excellent opportunity to work in a welcoming team with experienced leaders in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC). We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as an IPC practitioner to support the delivery of IPC activity across Barts Health. This is a new post to support the renal service deliver an effective IPC service.
The post holder will be supported by a Senior IPC Practitioner.
The Royal London and Mile End IPC team cover a wide range of clinical services and Barts Health has the largest dialysis network within the UK.
The successful candidate will be supported and mentored by a Senior IPC Practitioner, work alongside an experienced IPC team. If you have experience or a keen interest in IPC, then we would invite you to apply.
Please note the post holder will be expected to work 37.5 hours, Mon - Fri (Barts supports flexible working arrangements)., The post holder will provide infection prevention and control (IPC) support to Royal London and Mile End Hospital (MEH), including satellite units across Barts Health. The role is supported and supervised by a Senior IPC Practitioner.
The role is based within the IPC team at The Royal London Hospital and involves travelling across Barts Health.
The person will work closely with clinical staff across a number of services to develop and education, audit and surveillance programme.
The post holder will produce summary reports based on IPC activity, and present these at relevant meetings.
Support the services with IPC related quality improvement projects and product trials.
Support and assist the IPC Team in providing an infection control service in reducing the incidence of healthcare associated infections (HCAIs).
The post holder will be expected to support the Team's proactive approach to prevention, surveillance, investigation, and control of infection. This will include the implementation and education of evidence based infection prevention practices.
The post holder would be expected to support the learning needs of the IPC Link Practitioners.
The post holder will be a strong patient advocate, ensuring that the care of patients reflects best clinical standards and that all patients are treated with dignity and respect
Contribute towards the development of IPC policies.
Provide a wide range of education sessions to a cross section of staff on IPC related topics.
