Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit temporary Infant Feeding Peer Support workers, working as part of the local Sheffield Family Hub teams, based across the city. You will work from our Family Hubs and outreach venues alongside Midwives, Health Visitors and Early Year's teams.
The role is to offer peer support to all pregnant women and mothers with babies around their feeding choice in line with UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative.
Our aim is to ensure that all children get off to a great start in life, and good feeding practice and emotional attunement/ bonding support this. You will also promote Health campaigns and activities.
Your role therefore is to encourage and support women to consider breastfeeding and then to support her to maintain her breastfeeding journey as long as she wishes to. Part of your role is to engage mums in groups as well as via attendance at health clinics.
We are looking for motivated individuals who have an enthusiastic attitude to breastfeeding and have had at least one positive breastfeeding experience themselves.
You will be expected to attend mandatory training as well as training in line with the job role.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide pay slip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
