Full Job Description

The position is based in our Warwick office, offering a 6-month internship with a 40-hour workweek. The team also meets bi-monthly in Oxford (City Centre), and the intern should be available to attend these in-person meetings.,

  • Assist customers in building and validating low-frequency FE models of magnetic devices using SIMULIA's electromagnetic solvers
  • Translate customer specifications into simulation workflows
  • Run parametric studies, perform convergence checks, and document findings in clear, actionable reports
  • Support the creation of best practice guidelines and training material for industry users
  • Collaborate with senior consultants and the product team to provide user experience insights that shape future SIMULIA features

    Master's (or PhD) degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline
  • Strong fundamentals in electromagnetics (magnetostatics, eddy currents, low-frequency phenomena)
  • Hands-on experience with CST, Opera or similar (e.g. COMSOL) for magnet simulations
  • Ability to script/automate tasks (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Nice to have
  • Experience with resistive or superconducting magnet concepts (design, quench analysis, thermal magnetic coupling, protection circuits)
  • Knowledge of advanced numerical methods
  • Prior exposure to industry-focused consulting or client support activities
