independent Treasurer

We are looking for an independent Treasurer for our Not-for-Profit Association. We are a small Association of about 350-380 Veterinary Surgeons specialising in acupuncture. The Association is overseen by a Council of at present 6 Councillors. The aim of the Association is to educate Veterinary Surgeons as well as Members of the Public about the use of Acupuncture in animals. Our income derives from membership fees as well as our courses for Veterinary Surgeons. The income is then re-invested into education for Veterinary Surgeons as well as members of the Public.
The Role of the Treasurer would include presenting the annual accounts at the annual general meeting, attend meetings of the finance committee, liaise with our accountancy firm for the benefit of all stakeholders, ensure ABVA acts within the boundaries required to keep its VAT exempt status, ensure banking services are the most appropriate and sign of miscellaneous expenses.
This is a voluntary role. Our committee meetings are usually held online on a weekday evening, about 3-4 times a year. The annual general meeting has also been held online for the last few years, however, if it changes to an in-person meeting reasonable expenses would be paid. The current treasurer (who is stepping away for family reasons) estimates that she spends about half a day a month supporting the administration.
