Full Job Description
Reporting to the Incomes Manager, you will support the income team in maximising rental income by negotiating and administering payments of rent, communicate with residents in order to notify of unpaid rent. This will involve:
Manage arrears cases, negotiate payment arrangements and chase all failed payments in the patch allocated up to the point of transfer to the Income Legal Office
Signposting tenants to Money Advice, Income Officers, or specialist money advice agencies as appropriate to support the resident with rent arrears
Liaise with Local Authority Housing Benefit Departments and other outside agencies to support rental income
Process legal notices and assist with the management of court order cases to tenants with substantial arrears as per the pre court protocol to support legal claims
Interact with the Income Legal Officer on hand-over of arrears cases
Level 3 Chartered Institute of Housing or equivalent experience
Awareness of Housing Benefit, Welfare Benefit systems and processes
Understanding of arrears recovery and Court procedures
Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for rental income
Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills
Basic IT skills, including MS office packages
A flexible approach to the requirements of the job
Comfortable with everyday conversations/discussion in Welsh (or a willingness to improve your Welsh language skills to the required level)

The Package
Temporary contract (until 31.03.26)
Salary of £33,332 per annum
35 hours per week
