Full Job Description

To cover maternity leave within the business, we are looking for an In-house Recruiter to join our friendly HR team at our York Head Office to support hiring across our retail stores. If you enjoy spotting potential, supporting people, and helping stores succeed, this could be a great next step for you. This is a great opportunity to move from a retail/customer focused role into a people focused role where your experience makes a difference. You'll play a key part in finding and bringing in great people across our stores, from Customer Advisors through to Store Managers. If you know what "great" looks like in-store and want to help build strong, successful teams, we'd love to hear from you. Snapshot Of Your Responsibilities:

  • Creating and tailoring job adverts to attract the right people
  • Supporting store teams with their recruitment needs
  • Arranging and conducting interviews, both via telephone and MS Teams
  • Keeping candidates updated and providing feedback in a timely manner
  • Creating and sending out new starter paperwork and ensuring this is completed prior to their first day
  • Conducting right to work checks on candidates
  • Working closely with store managers and colleagues across the business
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Supporting recruitment for new store openings as we grow

Confident talking to people and building relationships (essential)
  • Organised and comfortable using basic IT systems (essential)
  • Have a positive, 'can do' attitude (essential)
  • Passion for finding the right candidate (essential)
  • Experienced interviewer (desired)
  • Experience in retail, ideally in a management or supervisory role (desired)
  • Previous retail experience (desired)
  • Previous in-house or agency recruitment experience (desired)
  • Knowledge of direct sourcing candidates (desired)
  • Experience using social media for recruitment (desired)
  • Previous experience using Applicant Tracking software (ATS) (desired)

The Pavers story began in York in 1971 when Catherine Paver took out a £200 bank loan (for a sofa she told them) to fund her new business. She had big dreams of changing the world of footwear and a passion to provide comfortable and stylish shoes for all.
  • Starting small, she sold shoes at village halls and homeware parties before opening the first Pavers shop in Scarborough in 1981, when Catherine's three sons joined the business. One of her sons, Stuart, ran the business as Managing Director for over 40 years, joined by his son Jason in 2016. As of September 2023, Jason Paver is now the Managing Director of Pavers Ltd, with Stuart Paver moving to Chairman, taking the company into the 3rd generation of family run leadership.
