Imaging Assistant

Join our dynamic team at Hammersmith Hospital as an Imaging Assistant, where you will play a vital role in the heart of our diagnostic services. This position is perfect for a proactive individual who balances clinical support with administrative excellence to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care. You will be responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that keep our diagnostic imaging services running smoothly. Beyond operational support, you will provide essential direct patient care before, during, and after examinations. As a member of the support team, you will also act as a mentor, providing educational guidance to junior colleagues.,

• Identify patients correctly using departmental Protocols and Procedures
• Receive patients into the department and prepare them for their examination
• To have a clear understanding of all procedures carried out within the Unit and the preparation required prior to the examination
• Prepare sterile trolleys and assist during interventional procedures
• Train imaging staff members as required
• Provide support and information to patients, carers and relatives where appropriate
• Escort patients to the toilet as required
• Support the radiographic and radiological staff when undertaking procedures and chaperone during intimate examinations as appropriate
• Use equipment and accessories appropriately
• Ensure all patient appointments are kept to time to aid in the smooth running of the unit
• Care for bed bound patients awaiting their examination within the Imaging department
