About the Service

Solace Women's Aid provides a wide range of services to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse including a large advocacy and support service and specialist projects co-located in a number of services.

About the Role

As an IDVA (Early Help) you will provide immediate support for survivors of abuse, working with Early Help, and wider Children's Social Services, including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referrals. In addition, you will act as an Early Help lead for Solace in Islington, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Islington based professionals.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter. You'll be highly organised, self-motivated and passionate about ending VAWG and hold a solid understanding of how domestic or sexual violence against a parent can affect a child in the home. Your "can-do" approach, experience of working with families and demonstrable commitment to Solace's feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer will be critical to the success of this role.

The postholder will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG and a strong understanding of statutory systems including housing and social care.

A relevant qualification in VAWG is desirable.

The is a part-time post at 28 hours per week. The salary for this role is £21,940 - £22,901 pro-rata of £29,385 - £30,671 (Unqualified) or £21,940 - £24,967 pro-rata of £30,671 - £33,438 (Qualified). The successful candidate will be appointed at the entry point of the scale.

This role involves being co-located multiple days per week within Islington's Family Hubs, and at our Head Office.

This is a fixed term contract to 31st March 2027.
