Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an ICT Senior Infrastructure Officer (Security) to join our ICT Infrastructure and Security team. This is an important opportunity to support the Council's developing cyber resilience, technical governance and assurance capability.

About the role

The role will provide dedicated capacity to support the Council's Cyber Resilience Programme, addressing activity identified through CAF assessment work, Audit Wales recommendations and wider corporate risk priorities. While the post remains part of the technical security function, it will also contribute to assurance and resilience activity that helps the Council understand, manage and report on its cyber position.

The post will support areas such as supply chain assurance and third party risk management, CAF improvement activity and evidence management, asset governance and HALO CMDB development, critical service and infrastructure dependency mapping, recovery prioritisation, resilience planning and cyber assurance reporting.

The role will also work closely with CPMP, the Data Protection Officer, SIRO, Procurement and Civil Contingencies to support a more joined up approach to cyber resilience, business continuity and organisational assurance. It will help create a more resilient security team through improved knowledge sharing, shadowing and cross cover between security officers.

About the candidate

The successful candidate will have strong experience in ICT security, infrastructure or a technical lead role, together with a good understanding of risk management, governance, asset management and assurance activity. The ability to work with both technical teams and corporate stakeholders will be important, including communicating technical information in a clear and practical way.

We welcome applications from non Welsh speakers. All successful applicants requiring support to learn or improve their Welsh language skills will be offered funded lessons during work time to help reach the required standard.

Our offer to you

We are committed to developing our people and will provide support to enable you to take ownership of the role's key areas of responsibility with confidence. We are also committed to supporting your ongoing professional development.

In exchange for your skills and commitment we will offer a range of employee benefits including flexible working, hybrid working, a competitive annual leave allowance, employee health and wellbeing support and a generous pension scheme.

- Hybrid Working: Subject to service needs, you may work from home or from an office location.

- Flexi-time: Hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs.

Interviews

Interview arrangements will be confirmed.
