Full Job Description

The ICT Infrastructure and Development Manager is a senior member of the IM&T management team, responsible for leading and developing the organisation's ICT Infrastructure and ICT Development functions. The role oversees the design, delivery, security, and continuous improvement of core digital services, ensuring that the Trust's technology environment is robust, scalable, and strategically aligned with organisational goals.
Operating from the Oakwood Building and reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the post holder plays a key role in shaping the Trust's digital capabilities and supporting high-quality service delivery across all departments.
This position provides leadership across technical teams and drives innovation in areas such as server and network architecture, cloud services, directory services, and development initiatives. The role requires the ability to balance operational oversight with strategic planning, ensuring that infrastructure and development activities meet performance, governance, and security requirements.
As part of the wider IM&T leadership group, the post holder contributes to decision-making, service improvement, and the ongoing enhancement of digital services that support staff, service users, and organisational priorities., 1. Design, maintain and develop the organisation's server, virtualisation, network and data centre infrastructure, ensuring security, resilience and high availability.
2. Manage core directory and identity services including Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, group policies, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams and VDI platforms.
3. Oversee data security, protection and recovery, including backups, monitoring, asset management, firewall administration and defence against cyber-security threats.
4. Lead the delivery, support and continuous improvement of end-user computing, software deployment, and enterprise management tools across desktops, laptops and servers.
5. Plan, prioritise and manage technical operations, including system maintenance, fault investigation, service performance monitoring and IM&T development workflows.
6. Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation across infrastructure and development programmes.
7. Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders, lead liaison with suppliers, support major projects, and communicate complex technical information clearly across the Trust.
8.
