Full Job Description

  • Maintain IT hardware and services across multiple school sites
  • Support schools in improving their ICT provision and enabling effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions
  • Facilitate communication between the school and our team, keeping stakeholders informed of our services
  • Manage customer accounts
  • Maintain school computer equipment
  • Install new and existing software across the network
  • Provide technical support to users and resolve technical problems
  • Resolve and manage technical issues affecting school operations with robust technical solutions
  • Install or repair computers with standardised applications and networking software
  • Diagnose and solve problems in computer operations
  • Support computer network and desktop services, including existing installations and upgrades
  • Work with desktop computers, iPads, printers, telephones, scanners, projectors, PA equipment, AV lecterns, and related hardware

    At least 2 years of experience in ICT Technician or 2nd line support, preferably in the education sector
  • Strong technical background with a passion for IT and excellent customer service
  • Good knowledge of common user applications and Microsoft Office 365 experience
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to explain technical issues in laymans terms
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and improve services
  • Team player with a courteous manner and self-motivated approach
  • Enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks required

    We are Turn IT on, part of the Transforming Learning Group, and we provide hands-on ICT and computing support, MIS support, GDPR services, consultancy, and training to over 5,000 schools across England through our three brands: turn IT on, School ICT Services, and SalamanderSoft. We put schools and their needs first so they can focus on teaching and learning. This full-time, full-year role is based in Bromley, with travel between school sites required and a salary of £28,000 to £33,000 negotiable for the right person.
