About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead the HR function. This is a key leadership role supporting both CheckFire Ltd, FireSealsDirect Ltd and Fire Cycle Ltd, ensuring our people strategy aligns with operational excellence and continued business growth.
Reporting to the HR Director, you will oversee all operational HR activity while contributing to strategic people initiatives. You will manage a small HR team of two and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the division.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is both operationally strong and strategically aware.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the HR Director in delivering the people strategy across the GroupProvide expert advice and guidance to senior managers on all people mattersContribute to organisational design, workforce planning, and succession planningDrive a positive, high-performance culture aligned to company valuesOversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submissionLiaise with finance and external payroll providers as requiredSupport annual salary review processes and budgetingLead and manage complex ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, performance management and restructuresCoach and upskill managers to confidently handle ER mattersEnsure all HR processes are legally compliant and aligned with current employment legislationOversee HR administration, contracts, onboarding documentation, and employee recordsMaintain accurate HR data and reporting metricsPrepare and analyse HR KPIs (absence, turnover,
headcount, etc.) to inform business decisionsReview, update, and implement HR policies and procedures, ensure policies reflect best practice and legislative updatesWork with the Group Talent Specialist to Improve onboarding and induction processesIdentify training needs across the divisions and support the implementation of development programmesLead and contribute to HR projects including system improvements, process optimisation, culture initiatives, and organisational change
HR Team ManagementLead, coach, and develop two direct reportsSet objectives and conduct performance reviewsEnsure a responsive and customer-focused HR service
RequirementsStrong employment law knowledge with a continuous improvement mindsetExperience managing payroll processesDemonstrable experience handling complex ER casesExperience managing or mentoring HR team membersExperience supporting organisational change and HR projectsCIPD Level 5 minimumStrong stakeholder management and influencing skillsAnalytical mindset with experience using HR data to drive decisionsAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
Ideally, you'll also haveExperience in a manufacturing, engineering or similar environmentExperience working within a group or multi-site business
