Full Job Description
- NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in relevant area or demonstrable relevant skills and experience in early learning, nursery nursing, community, family support, youth or social work.
- 3 GCSE grade (A-C) or equivalent Desirable:
- Hold or have a willingness to work towards children's workforce qualifications as appropriate.,
- Experience of working with vulnerable families, babies, children and/or young people up to the age of 19 (up to 25 years old with a Special Educational Need or disability)
- Experience of assessing the needs of children and families
- Experience of providing relevant advice and information to families, and providing support
- Experience of working with a range of agencies
- Experience of working as part of a team and contributing to team growth and development
- Experience of recording information about children and families, and maintaining these to expected standardsDesirable:
- Experience of acting as lead professional and chairing or contributing to meetings
- Experience of using the Family Help Assessment and other key assessment tools Specialist skills and abilities Method of Assessment - D/IEssential:
- Understanding of child development and early learning
- Ability to undertake robust assessments and develop holistic family plans
- Understanding of and commitment to difference and diversity, inclusion and access issues and how these impact on children, young people and families
- Basic understanding of children's rights Desirable:
- Knowledge of the Supporting Families agenda and of Family Help services in Shropshire
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and national guidance including:
- Children Act 2004
- Working Together 2015
- Restorative practice, Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Good IT skills including accurate recording E.G. Microsoft
- Good time management
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills
- Able to lead and facilitate group activities
- Enthusiasm and motivation to contribute to the development of an integrated multi agency early help communityDesirable:
- Familiarity with using recording systems such as Liquid Logic
- Drive and enthusiasm to support development of new integrated ways of working
- Ability to work flexibly Special working conditions Method of Assessment - D/IEssential:
- Ability to work from home on a regular basis, with the requirement to attend your primary work base as and when required.
- During a Pandemic, Epidemic or Major Incident or Emergency you may be asked to work from home or other location and on occasion to undertake duties that are not stated in your Job Description or Person Specification where there is a skill, competency, and experience match
- Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work
- The use of a car is essential, for which travel expenses will be paid. Alternative travel arrangements will be discussed for applicants with disabilities
