Full Job Description

The HR Support Assistant will support the recruitment and onboarding of volunteers and team members across the organisation. This role helps ensure a smooth, efficient, and well-organised recruitment process, contributing to strong team capacity and the effective delivery of our services.

  • Assist with posting volunteer and team vacancy advertisements.
  • Screen applications and shortlist suitable candidates.
  • Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers.
  • Conduct initial screening calls (where assigned).
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment records.
  • Support the onboarding process, including preparing documentation and arranging system access.
  • Ensure new volunteers receive SOPs, induction materials, and onboarding information.
  • Follow established recruitment procedures and workflows.
  • Prepare and submit weekly recruitment reports to the HR Team Supervisor.

    Minimum high school education (college or university-level education preferred).
  • Previous experience in HR, recruitment, administration, or coordination is desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets) or similar software.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 12 volunteer hours per week.
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience in HR and Recruitment.

We provide a range of community services, including a charity shop, family support programmes, and our flagship Wolverhampton Baby Bank. Our Baby Bank supports families with children aged 0-3 by providing donated essential items and practical assistance, including:
  • Nappies, wipes, clothing, bedding, toys, and other baby essentials.
  • Support services for new and expectant parents, including drop-in groups and befriending services.
  • Referrals and signposting to additional local services and community resources.
