Overview

Volkswagen Group UK is offering two HR industrial placements starting in June 2027. You will have the opportunity to support our employees’ development and growth to achieve their personal and professional ambitions. Two roles are available, and applicants will be asked for their preference if invited to the assessment centre:

• People Operations: Working as the first point of contact for the business, responding to general HR queries, and administering the employee lifecycle from start to exit.


• Talent, Development and Communications: Serving as the first point of contact for Talent, Development, and Internal Communications queries, providing administration and project support across the T&D and IC teams. This role involves working with various systems to keep training records up to date and actively promoting communication channels.

What do you need?

To be successful, you should have strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. A passion for customer service, proactive attitude, positivity, and a delivery focus are essential. Effective communication skills within the People Team and with business stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, are also required. Our placement is open to university students eligible to work full-time in the UK for twelve months from June 2027. You should be enrolled in a sandwich degree that offers a one-year industrial placement. To ensure good work/life balance, students need to be based within a reasonable distance from our Milton Keynes head office.

Assessment Process

After applying, you will be asked to complete numerical and situational judgment assessments. Successful completion will lead to an invitation for an online video interview. The final stage is a face-to-face assessment centre, involving activities based on real-life tasks, meeting managers and current placement students. This process helps determine if the placement is the right fit for you. Successful candidates will be offered a place shortly after the assessment centre.
