Full Job Description
Brighton Girls is seeking to appoint a skilled HR generalist to provide a professional operational HR service. The primary purpose of this role is to undertake the required safer recruitment checks and accurately maintain the Single Central Register to ensure compliance. This role will also support the HR Manager in the provision of a high quality, efficient HR service for the school, providing effective administrative support for the employee lifecycle, with particular focus on recruitment, payroll, employee records and operational HR administration. You will report to our HR and Compliance Manager and liaise with the HR Business Partner at the Girls' Day School Trust office who will assist you with providing guidance on the application of GDST HR policies and procedures.
You will possess excellent time management, organisation and administrative skills, and will be able to manage and prioritise your own workload effectively with the needs of the school. We are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, who can relate well to people on all levels with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy. The ability to work well under pressure and work to tight deadlines is key. Experience of working in HR in a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential and we would welcome applicants with educational experience and knowledge of the Single Central Record looking to grow into this HR role.
Why join Brighton Girls? As a founding school of the Girls' Day School Trust, Brighton Girls has a significance in the history of girls' education. Located in the heart of the city of Brighton; we are as eclectic, enterprising, and creative as the city itself. As part of the Girls' Day School Trust, our staff benefit from our 140-year history of excellence and innovation in girls' education, with many opportunities to share ideas and best practice with colleagues across the network.
