Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, proactive and hands-on HR Manager or HRBP to establish and lead the HR function at Samuel Smith's Brewery. Currently, HR responsibilities and administration are shared across the leadership team. We are looking for someone to take ownership of this function, introduce effective processes, streamline admin and reduce employment-related risks across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building and improving processes, bringing structure to a business and working closely with senior management. Key Responsibilities Establish and develop the HR function, introducing clear policies, procedures and processes. Take ownership of day-to-day HR administration, reducing the workload on the leadership team. Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and minimise employment-related risks. Manage employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance matters. Introduce efficient HR systems and
processes to improve consistency and reduce administration. Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees. About You Proven experience in HR Management or HRBP roles. Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations. Experience developing HR policies, procedures and processes. A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach. Confident managing sensitive employee matters and advising senior management. Excellent communication skills and high levels of confidentiality. Has a full driving license and happy for some travel. CIPD qualification desirable. The Opportunity This is a standalone HR role offering the opportunity to make a real difference by creating a structured, efficient and professional HR function from the ground up. This is a fully office-based position, working five days per week at our Tadcaster office with some potential travel to our sites across the country as needed.
