Full Job Description
We're looking for an experienced HR Adviser with a strong employee relations focus to join our People Team. In this role, you'll partner closely with leaders to manage a broad range of complex people matters, providing expert, pragmatic advice and ensuring fair and consistent application of policies. This is a key role where you'll take ownership of ER casework, support organisational change initiatives, and play an active role in consultation processes. You'll bring confidence in handling sensitive issues, strong employment law knowledge, and the ability to influence and coach managers through challenging situations. Key Responsibilities
- Take the lead on a wide range of employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance and wellbeing matters
- Provide expert, risk-based advice to managers, ensuring outcomes are fair, consistent, and legally compliant
- Coach, support and challenge leaders to build capability and confidence in managing complex people issues
- Prepare high-quality case documentation, including outcome letters, investigation reports, and management guidance
- Manage cases end-to-end through the HR case management system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely resolution
- Identify trends in ER activity and proactively recommend improvements to reduce risk and enhance employee experience
- Work collaboratively with HRBPs, legal advisors, occupational health, and other stakeholders on complex or high-risk cases Change Management & Consultations
- Support organisational change programmes, including restructures, service redesigns, and TUPE activity
- Provide guidance to managers on change processes and consultation requirements, ensuring compliance with employment law and organisational standards
- Actively support and participate in collective and individual consultation processes, including preparing documentation and attending consultation meetings
- Produce clear and professional consultation materials (e.g., letters, FAQs, briefing packs)
- Support managers to effectively communicate change and manage employee engagement throughout the process Policy & Best Practice
- Ensure consistent and compliant application of HR policies and procedures, with a particular focus on employee relations and change
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR policies, processes, and ways of working
- Promote best practice in people management and support a positive employee experience
Significant experience in an HR Advisory role with a strong focus on employee relations - Proven ability to manage complex ER cases end-to-end
- Is highly driven, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting organisational change and consultation processes
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law, particularly in relation to ER and change
- Strong influencing, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- Confidence in handling sensitive situations and challenging conversations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage competing priorities CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) is desirable.
