Full Job Description
We're looking for a compassionate and reliable individual who is committed to supporting vulnerable residents. You'll be calm under pressure, able to respond effectively in emergencies, and confident working both independently and as part of a team. With strong communication and organisational skills, you'll be able to build positive relationships, prioritise your workload, and provide a high standard of service. A caring, professional approach and a genuine desire to make a difference are essential. What you'll do As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering a responsive wellbeing service to residents, including providing a 24-hour emergency response during your shift. You'll support tenants to sustain their tenancies, respond to emergency calls, and ensure schemes are safe, secure, and well maintained. Working closely with the Housing Officer, you'll also carry out essential administrative tasks and take action on repairs, helping to create a safe and supportive environment for residents.
- Experience in housing, support work, or a similar customer-focused role
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication
- A caring, compassionate approach with a strong customer focus
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety (or willingness to learn)
- Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to service needs
This is a part time, permanent role working 15 hours a week (9am-5pm every Saturday and Sunday).
