Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a new Housing Service Support Manager for our Supported Housing service in Nottinghamshire. This is an
amazing role where you will lead and manage everything on a day to day basis to ensure the young people who live in our service
are safe and supported. You will be passionate about providing opportunities for our young people to learn the valuable skills
they need to move toward living independently.
You will have the unique perspective of working with both young people and staff, giving you valuable insight to the needs,
requirements but also the successes and achievements the young people are making every day.
You will seek to improve the lives of the young people by working with them to understand what support they need to engage in
education or employment, become more independent and gain skills that will last a lifetime.
You will be motivated by your desire to make a positive impact on people and you will passionately share our belief that everyone
should have a fair chance to discover who they are who they can become.
On a day to basis, you will
· Lead a team of Youth Support Workers and Senior Youth Support Workers, ensuring they are meeting their KPI's and giving our
young people all the support they require to achieve positive outcomes.
· Manage the budget for your service area including staffing, equipment, funded projects etc.
· Work closely with the Maintenance and Domestic teams to ensure properties are both turned around quickly and maintained to high
standards.
· Be pro-active in managing personal charges, housing benefit claims, occupancy, managing periods of voids and working closely
with the Local Authority to identify new tenants.
· Provide support for incidents and complete investigations and reflective practice sessions to identify learnings.
· Manage the KPI's and analyse the data to prepare reports to provide insight on the effectiveness and performance of this service
area.
· Provide support or project manage newly funded projects.
This is a very varied role where truly, no two days are the same. You will be highly supportive of the teams that you directly and
indirectly manage and look to bring everyone on the same journey of development and improvement; instilling a desire in everyone
to do the very best they can, to drive those positive outcomes for our young people.
You will also use your own personal drive and personality to build relationships with external partners and stakeholders to
leverage services which may be of use to our residents, but also to explore community initiatives our residents can get involved
with too.
From a background in supported housing, you will be able to bring knowledge and understanding of support accommodation, the
challenges our residents face but also an awareness of the support and 3rd parties available to support our residents.
You will be a brilliant communicator; whether dealing with your staff or our residents, you will be able to inspire, engage and
motivate. You will be confident in 1-2-1 communication and in group settings, able to represent your service area at team and
wider organisation meetings.
You might already have team leaderships skills from a previous role or looking to make that first step into management, we are
happy to support your development.
It is desirable that you have a full driving licence (as travel between our sites is required) but these can be accessed by public
transport across Nottingham., Disability Confident
