Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to join our Sanctuary Housing Services team based in our Bow Office in London. For this role you will be expected to deliver high quality housing management services that meet the identified needs of customers, the organisation and the wider community. Sanctuary Housing Services manages homes across England, providing general rented housing, housing for older people, market rent properties, shared ownership and home ownership accommodation. It also provides housing related services including lettings, debt management, compliance, tenancy management and customer services support. The job holder will ensure that they fully always understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect of both Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity. The role of Housing Officer will include:
- Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases
- Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
- Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
- Managing complaints about service delivery
- Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
- Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
- Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting tenant welfare including; domestic abuse, anti social behaviour and safeguarding
- Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes
Proven experience of undertaking a similar role - Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
- Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
- Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
- Excellent customer service and negotiating skills
- An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
- Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

- Role salary is £39,507 per annum
