Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Housing Needs Assessment Manager to lead our Housing Needs Assessment Team.
You will lead a team responsible for assessing housing need, ensuring decisions are fair, evidence-based, compliant, and focused on achieving positive outcomes for customers. You will oversee complex cases, reviews and appeals, ensuring housing legislation and council policy are consistently applied.
Working closely with colleagues and partner agencies across the city, you will help deliver a customer-focused service that supports vulnerable residents, manages risk effectively, and responds to housing need in a fair and transparent way.
You will also play an important role in driving service improvement, monitoring performance, and contributing to strategic discussions around housing demand and future service development.
The Person
You will have significant experience of housing services within a local authority, housing association, or similar regulated environment, together with excellent knowledge of housing legislation, allocations and housing needs assessment.
You will be an effective leader with experience of managing complex cases, developing staff, working in partnership with other agencies, and delivering high-quality customer-focused services.
Most importantly, you will share our values of Proud, Fair and Ambitious, with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for residents and communities.
If you are passionate about delivering excellent housing services and leading a team that makes a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
We offer a supportive and forward-thinking working environment, alongside flexible working, generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, and access to extensive learning and development opportunities.
