Lichfield District Council is building something from the ground up. We're looking for an experienced Interim who has built or transformed a housing management function within a Registered Provider/social housing environment. This isn't a role where you'll inherit a housing service. You'll build one.

About the role:

Lichfield District Council is a Registered Provider expanding its role as a provider of affordable rented homes. For the first time, the Council will directly own and manage a growing portfolio of general needs homes, alongside its existing temporary accommodation. We are entering an exciting new chapter. As a Registered Provider, this brings a significant opportunity and responsibility.

Who are we looking for:

We are looking for an exceptional Housing Management Implementation Manager to lead the design and implementation of a modern, compliant, and financially sustainable housing management function from the ground up. You'll lead the development and implementation of the Council's landlord functions, ensuring that the service is:

  • Compliant

  • Customer-focused

  • Financially sustainable

  • Operationally effective

  • Fit for the future

Key Responsibilities

You will need significant experience within a Registered Provider, Local authority, or social/affordable housing environment, with a proven track record of establishing, redesigning, or transforming housing management services. You'll bring substantial experience of:

  • Managing social or affordable housing

  • Establishing or redesigning housing management services

  • Housing policies and procedures

  • Tenancy management

  • Housing management systems

  • Landlord and tenant legislation

  • Financial modelling and service budgets

  • Complex cross-service projects

  • Organisational change

  • Working with Legal, Finance and Property professionals

Interested?

If you're an experienced social housing professional looking for an interim assignment where you can build something genuinely new and leave a legacy, we'd like to hear from you. For a confidential discussion about the opportunity, contact LWM Talent for more information.

Why Join Us?

This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of Lichfield District - a place with a rich heritage, a growing economy, and ambitious plans for the years ahead. You'll be part of a forward-thinking council that values innovation, community impact, and professional growth.

Benefits of working for us:

  • Friendly and supportive environment underpinned by our values.

  • Hybrid working including flexibility around working patterns.

  • Free onsite Parking

  • Fantastic modern offices.

  • Short walk from the Train station and easily commutable by car.

What next?

To be considered for this exciting new opportunity, please send your CV and Supporting statement. If you need support with completing your application, or for any part of the recruitment process, please contact us so that we can discuss reasonable adjustments.

Please Note: We value the interest shown in our vacancies and aim to consider every application carefully. However, in the event of exceptionally high levels of response, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early to manage application volumes effectively. Due to the high number of applications that we can typically receive, we are unable to notify applicants who have not been shortlisted. If you have not heard from us within 4 weeks of the closing date, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. We look forward to hearing from you.
