Full Job Description
- Carry out property inspections and housing condition assessments, including HHSRS assessments.
- Investigate complaints and identify appropriate solutions and interventions.
- Work with landlords and HMO managers to improve standards and ensure compliance.
- Support licensing and enforcement activity, including notices, civil penalties and rent repayment orders where appropriate.
- Work closely with partner agencies including housing, planning, police, fire and rescue and trading standards.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
- Keep up to date with relevant housing legislation, guidance and best practice.
We are looking for someone with experience in private sector housing, housing enforcement, environmental health, HMO management or a related field. You should have strong communication and investigative skills, be confident working with a range of stakeholders and have a practical, solutions-focused approach to improving housing standards. Knowledge of HHSRS, HMO legislation and private sector housing legislation is required.
