Housing Capital Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Housing Capital Project Manager to lead the planning, development and delivery of Trafford Council's housing capital investment programme. Working within our Development & Estates Team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our housing stock remains safe, compliant, sustainable and maintained to a high standard for residents across the borough. You will take ownership of a diverse range of planned maintenance and capital investment projects, from property inspections and defect diagnosis through to procurement, contract management and programme delivery. Working closely with residents, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining compliance with key regulatory and safety requirements.

You will be an experienced building surveying, construction or housing asset management professional with a strong track record of delivering capital investment and planned maintenance programmes within a residential environment. You'll bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to managing complex projects, balancing technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for residents. Drawing on your experience of building surveys, defect diagnosis, contract management and housing compliance, you'll be confident making informed decisions that achieve value for money while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
