Full Job Description
We are recruiting for a part time Housing Advisor to join our busy Housing Advice team. The role is responsible for holding a caseload, carrying out statutory functions under homelessness legislation; offering tailored housing advice and options to prevent and relieve homelessness and advising on the rights of tenants under housing laws. You will be:
- Confident managing a caseload, offering complex advice and making decisions on homeless applications.
- Able to interpret and apply complex legislation and guidance
An excellent communicator, able to build positive relationships with customers and partner agencies. - Calm and resilient under pressure
- A skilled problem solver and negotiator. Knowledge of housing, homelessness, welfare, health or social care services would be an advantageous. Able to travel around Cambridge on occasions is required. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this post.

- Subsidy for public transport, Hours: This is a part-time role, for 22.2 hours per week. Working Pattern: 3 Days (work pattern to be agreed) Contract: Fixed Term until 31 August 2028 Salary: £37,280 - £41,771 per annum (City Pay Band 5), pro rata for part time. Location: Based at central Cambridge office with some flexibility to work from home.
