Full Job Description

All general housekeeping duties will be required within a mental health inpatient environment to set procedures and to ensure the cleanliness of a hospital environment is maintained to a high standard by CoSHH, health and safety, and infection control measures in place.

This may include the support and serving of patient mealtimes; therefore, direct patient contact will be required.

You will be a team player and have the ability to use your initiative to prioritise and organise daily duties whilst maintaining the Trust Values.

The unit is operational 7 days a week; this is a full-time position. Supervisors work Monday to Friday, although you may be asked to work weekends and bank holidays if the ward is short of housekeepers.

You will be required to order food provisions and general stock.

You will also conduct supervisions and appraisals of staff.

If you have experience of being able to manage staff and deliver cleaning to a high standard and enjoy working as part of a team, then this could be the role for you.

This role will include supervising a team of housekeepers alongside a second supervisor and supporting the provision of good-quality, safe catering and cleanliness.

Duties include seeing the job description and also

Arranging rosters to ensure there is cover for the whole day.

Supervising a team of housekeepers, including supervisions, appraisals, sickness reviews, and ensuring training is up to date.

Ordering and maintaining food and cleaning stocks, planning menus and cleaning schedules following strict hygiene, COSHH and IPC regulations.

Recruitment of housekeepers.

To liaise with the different levels of staff on the wards regarding patient meals.

You will be responsible for payment of food stocks.

Knowledge of computer use, including Excel, Word and other systems the trust uses.

Housekeeping supervisors report to the Soft FM officer for estates and Facilities and are managed by the Estates and Facilities Manager
