Housekeeping Assistant Manager - Cardiff

Your focus is to actively support and work alongside the Housekeeping Manager in the day-to-day running of the housekeeping department. This is a hands-on operational leadership role, combining floor-based supervision with planning, real-time work allocation, and shift control. You will lead from the front, conducting inspections, re-checking rooms, and directly coaching the team during service to deliver exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and guest experience standards. Your Shift: What You'll Actually Be Doing As our Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you are leading on the floor. We trust you to handle:
• Visible Leadership: Conducting frequent inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas, taking immediate corrective action to release top-quality spaces.
• Real-Time Operational Control: Monitoring room status based on arrivals, adjusting daily work allocation, and tracking productivity metrics like minutes per room.
• Commercial Support: Controlling operational costs by tracking linen usage, managing shift payroll hours, and keeping cleaning supplies fully stocked without waste.
• Service Recovery: Handling guest requests and complaints directly, ensuring swift, professional resolutions that protect our brand reputation.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforcing absolute compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and COSHH regulations, immediately correcting any unsafe practices.
