Full Job Description
We are looking to recruit a part-time experienced Housekeeper to work 15 hours per week on Ward 13
The role of the Housekeeper is very diverse but fundamentally the post holder will ensure the ward areas are kept clean, tidy and well stocked.
They will liaise with the appropriate departments, to order equipment and report faults and partake in weekly audits.
This post is a part of a job share, candidates will need to have excellent communication skills in order to ensure handovers are given to our other housekeeper for the smooth running of the ward., The housekeeper works very closely with the Ward Manager and Nursing staff in supporting their role and ensuring the safe and effective running of the ward.
The housekeepers role supports the ward in ensuring the setting is clean and safe for patients and staff.
A housekeeper will lead the ward services such as catering, cleaning, equipment and supplies., The role requires scheduled stock counts and ordering the weekly stock for the ward whilst identifying any equipment in short supply or any issues with stock levels liaising with our stores and pre-empting any further delays or issues which may arise.
During deliveries, housekeepers check received items to ensure that they function as expected and report any concerns.
The role involves understanding the ward budget and making sure we are ordering within this budget whilst reviewing specialist equipment which may be required as additional expense.
The role requires someone who is well organised with a good standard of written and verbal communication. Computer skills are an essential part of the job. The ability to work in a team is essential as you will work closely with many professional groups including nursing, procurement and infection control.
