By guiding members of the public and promoting correct waste segregation, you'll help increase recycling quality, reduce contamination, and contribute to a cleaner future we can all be proud of.
What you'll do as a Household Recycling Operative
You'll be entrusted to:
- Assist with opening and closing the household waste recycling site in line with site procedures
- Support members of the public to dispose of waste safely and recycle correctly
- Promote recycling and environmental awareness to site users
- Monitor waste segregation and remove contamination where necessary
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organisation across the site
- Use plant, tools, and equipment safely and in line with training and instructions

A strong customer service mindset and enjoy working with the public
- A practical understanding of waste types and recycling, or the willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy
- Physical fitness and comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions
- A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
