House Keeper - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

We are looking for a motivated and organised Housekeeper to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. This is an important role that helps ensure the unit remains safe, clean, well-stocked and organised, supporting the delivery of high-quality care to critically ill patients. As an ICU Housekeeper, you will work closely with nursing, medical and support staff to maintain ward supplies, manage stock levels, check equipment, support infection prevention and control standards, and help create a welcoming environment for patients and their families. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the unit, enabling clinical staff to spend more time delivering direct patient care.,

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised environment within the Intensive Care Unit.
• Manage ward stock, supplies and equipment, ensuring items are available and ready for use.
• Support infection prevention and control standards through regular cleaning and environmental checks.
• Assist with patient meal ordering, food preparation and hydration support.
• Prepare and maintain patient bed spaces to support efficient patient flow and bed turnover.
• Carry out equipment checks, report faults and coordinate repairs as required.
• Support environmental audits and contribute to service improvements.
• Liaise with departments across the Trust, including Portering, Estates, Stores and Hotel Services.
• Provide a welcoming and professional service to patients, relatives and visitors.
• Support the multidisciplinary team with non-clinical tasks, enabling clinical staff to focus on direct patient care.
  
  This is a varied and rewarding role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will have a direct impact on patient experience and the efficient operation of the Intensive Care Unit.
