A typical day in the life of a Hotel Receptionist:
Warmly greet arriving hotel guests, manage the check-in and check-out process, and issue room keys.
Handle room reservations, amendments, and cancellations accurately using the hotel booking system.
Direct phone calls, reply to email inquiries, and assist guests with face-to-face queries regarding their stay, room features, and local attractions.
Provide detailed information about hotel amenities, restaurant options, and on-site spa/leisure facilities.
Process guest payments, settle accounts, and manage the front desk efficiently.
Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to monitor room readiness and resolve guest requests promptly.
Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organised reception area at all times.
Log all visitors, contractors, and non-resident guests correctly in line with security protocols.
Complete all relevant compliance and operational training required for the role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
It would be desirable if you had proven experience in a hotel receptionist or front-of-house customer service role and proficiency with general computer booking platforms.
