Full Job Description
We are looking for a Chef to teach and support our Level 3 Culinary Arts provision within the Activate Learning Hospitality and Catering department at Oxford College. You will be responsible for the delivery, assessment, and tracking student achievement for the courses.
Teaching experience is required for this role. In addition to having the necessary qualifications and industry experience to teach on our Hospitality and Catering courses, you must be able to demonstrate previous teaching experience and the attributes of an inspirational educator. We will support your continued professional development in the FE sector, but a background in teaching is essential. Communication with industry partners is also a requirement for this role as we work closely with hotel chains, local restaurants, and contract catering employers to supply work placement, apprenticeships, mentorships and masterclass demonstrations for our students.
- Significant experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie is essential
- A culinary qualification is essential
- Teaching experience is highly desirable While not essential, we're particularly interested in candidates with teaching, assessing, and IQA qualifications. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for an individual with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. For example, a culinary arts student from one of our colleges has been crowned the Young Risotto Chef of the Year 2021 and we would love the candidate for this post to continue to drive competition experiences forward. This is a permanent, part-time position working 26 hours per week (0.70 FTE) based at our City of Oxford College Campus. These days can be flexible for the right candidate.
