Full Job Description

The role will ensure that through maintaining relationships with landlords/agents and wider joint working, tenancies set up via Camden's PRS access schemes are sustainable and are sustained for as long as possible.

The Team achieves challenging targets within defined timescales, for helping families to make positive moves to prevent homelessness or out of temporary accommodation, through provision of first class housing advice and support with the widest possible range of housing options.

Completion of high quality, timely and accurate assessments in accordance with the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII, Code of Guidance, caselaw and the council's strategies and policies (especially the homelessness placement policy and housing allocations scheme).

Strengths-based approaches and joint working are role-modelled, enabling the team to create and action personalised housing plans for households to move seamlessly and successfully, at the most appropriate time, to an affordable home suitable for their needs.

We're looking for someone who shares our ambition to make Camden the best place to live and work, and who is passionate about delivering services in a relational way, with the best outcomes for residents at the heart of everything you do. You believe everyone deserves a home that is safe, warm and secure, and that residents should feel part of Camden's community.

You will bring at least one year's experience of managing staff, alongside detailed working knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII and the ability to apply relevant case law. You will also have working knowledge of related legislation including the Protection from Eviction Act, environmental health legislation, welfare benefits legislation, and data protection requirements. A high level of ICT literacy is essential, including the ability to use digital systems and databases to maintain accurate records and monitor performance. You are proactive and take early action to prevent issues from escalating, ensuring residents receive the right support at the right time. You are committed to making services accessible, transparent and responsive, and you approach your work with empathy and care.

You work collaboratively with colleagues, residents and partners to deliver joined-up services and build positive relationships across diverse communities. You are also committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and understand the importance of safeguarding, wellbeing and supporting residents in a trauma-informed way.

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We're home to the most important conversations happening today and we're making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here's where you can help decide a better future for us all.
