Full Job Description
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for supporting children with complex needs and making a genuine difference every day?, The Role:As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting both teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with class teachers and therapists to deliver tailored lessons, lead small group interventions, and occasionally cover classes. The role requires a proactive and nurturing approach to support pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including communication difficulties, sensory needs, and physical disabilities.,
- Supporting the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities
- Leading small group interventions and covering lessons when required
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with ASC and PMLD
- Assisting with communication strategies, including PECS, Makaton, or AAC tools
- Supporting pupils with personal care where required
- Promoting engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
We are currently recruiting for a committed and compassionate HLTA to join a specialist SEN school in Folkestone, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)., Previous experience working within a SEN setting, ideally with ASC and/or PMLD - HLTA status or significant experience as a Teaching Assistant ready to step up
