Full Job Description
The HIV Support Advocacy and Wellbeing Specialist will be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered advocacy, wellbeing and community support for people living with HIV across Essex.
Working and supported alongside the HIV Support Project Lead, the postholder will provide holistic assessments, manage a caseload and provide support for individuals experiencing complex health, social and emotional needs, including poverty, welfare, stigma, mental health, housing and substance use., The role will also support targeted outreach and engagement activities alongside the wider Essex Sexual Health Service Outreach and Education Team to reduce health inequalities, improve engagement in HIV care, strengthen referral pathways and increase access to support for communities disproportionately affected by HIV.
Through partnership working, group facilitation, awareness raising and co-production, the postholder will empower people living with HIV to improve their wellbeing, achieve their goals and live independently while helping to shape responsive, inclusive services across Essex.
