Highways Officer

We're looking for an experienced Highways Officer to join our Highways Operations team. About the role As a Highways Officer, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring highway maintenance activities within the Selby area, ensuring the network remains safe and serviceable for all users. Working closely with colleagues, contractors, local stakeholders and members of the public, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality highway maintenance services. · Essential · Experience working within highways maintenance, highways operations or civil engineering. · Knowledge of highway inspection and maintenance practices. · Experience planning, coordinating or monitoring works programmes. · Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. · Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems effectively. · Full UK driving licence. Desirable · Relevant highways or civil engineering qualification. · Experience managing highway defects and repairs. · Knowledge of highways legislation and network management duties. · Experience responding to customer enquiries or public liability matters.
