This is your chance to play a vital role in maintaining and improving the Somerset road network!, Your RoleAs a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will be an essential part of our Somerset team, ensuring our highways are safe and well-maintained for everyone. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Responding to defects and emergencies on the highway, providing updates via tablet devices.
Installing traffic management signage as needed.
Carrying out minor improvement works and routine maintenance to enhance the road network.
Operating various plant and equipment safely and effectively.
Using tablet devices to accurately record works and maintain clear communication with the team and clients.
Supporting winter maintenance activities and severe weather operations when required.

What We're Looking ForThis role is perfect for you if:
You hold a Full driving licence.
You can work under pressure in a safety-critical environment.
You are self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
You enjoy collaborating as part of a team.
You're comfortable working with minimal supervision and taking initiative.

Contract: Permanent, Full-time
