Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

The Community Speech & Language Therapy Service at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an innovative Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapists to join the team for a 12 month fixed term period (secondment will be considered) due to the maternity leave of the current post holder..

The post is to work into the Sefton locality with joint working across with Liverpool colleagues to support the implementation of our clinically evidence-based care pathways for children and young people presenting with speech sound disorders.

The post holder will work predominantly clinically with their own caseload as well as to support speech and language therapists and SLT assistants to provide good quality care to work towards achieving the outcomes set collaboratively with the CYP, their parents / carers and families.

There are also elements of service co-ordination, clinical supervision and leadership expected as part of this post

The post is based in the community, and so there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be a car driver and have access to a vehicle to enable then to travel to, and between various locations throughout the week., The successful candidate will work with their colleagues to further the implement and monitor the quality of care pathways for children and young people in their highly specialist clinical area.

They will lead a small team of speech and language therapists to provide clinical supervision ensuring they provide a high-quality speech and language therapy service to children in a variety of community settings including clinics, schools and nurseries.

We are looking for candidates who can assess and provide a range of therapeutic interventions using their highly specialist knowledge to children in the aforementioned clinical area.

The team work collaboratively with other partner agencies and carers to enable them to understand the communication needs and to provide appropriate advice, support and intervention.
