Full Job Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a part-time Band 8b psychologist to join us in delivering acute inpatient neuropsychology services across the Neurosciences Directorate wards. The post-holder will cover high care, neurology, and neurosurgical inpatients alongside a part-time Band 8a post. The postholder will lead clinical service delivery within inpatient neuropsychology and provide clinical supervision and support for the 8a post.
This post is supported by the Service Lead Consultant Neuropsychologist, friendly team of clinical/ neuropsychologists, and the wider Health Psychology Specialty. There is access to a wealth of supervision within our supportive neuropsychology department. The post holder will be able to develop specialist skills with supervision from a Consultant Neuropsychologist. Completion of the QiCN will be supported. We have strong teaching and research links with Cardiff University, and research interests are encouraged.
We are looking for an applicant with interests in the neuropsychology of acute inpatient rehabilitation. This post would appeal to an enthusiastic practitioner who holds patient care at the centre of their work., This post forms part of a supportive team of clinical psychologists/ neuropsychologists and wider MDT. The role includes psychological and cognitive assessment, consultation, team formulation, joint working, staff training and brief interventions for service users and their families. Additionally, the postholder will liaise with other services as needed, lead clinical service delivery within inpatient neuropsychology, and support the 8a post working alongside them.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
