Highly Specialist Allied Health Professional (AHP) in Pain Management

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Physiotherapist to join the internationally renowned Pain Management Centre at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in delivering specialist pain management services to people living with complex chronic pain conditions.Working within a highly skilled interdisciplinary team, you will provide expert assessment, treatment and rehabilitation using evidence-based biopsychosocial approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative service development, research, education and the delivery of nationally recognised pain management programmes., The post holder will manage a complex outpatient caseload and deliver the physiotherapy component of specialist pain management programmes delivered both face-to-face and virtually. You will work closely with psychologists, nurse specialists, consultants and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support patients in improving function, quality of life and self-management.

Key responsibilities include:o Delivering specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients with persistent and complex chronic pain conditions.o Supporting and facilitating interdisciplinary pain management programmes (virtual and face-to-face) and specialist movement groups.o Contributing to the Inpatient Complex Pain Service.o Providing specialist advice and support to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.o Supervising junior physiotherapy staff and supporting professional development within the team.o Leading and participating in service improvement initiatives, audit, research and education activities.o Supporting the continued development of innovative pain services, including digital pain management pathways.
