Highly Specialised Neuro Occupational Therapist

As an autonomous practitioner, to assess and treat your own case load and provide a specialist Occupational Therapy service to patients. To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), assessing and treating patients with complex neurological impairment or patients with other complex rehabilitation needs. To maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records. To support line manager in the provision and management of rehabilitation services in different settings, including acute, rehabilitation, outpatients and the community. To take responsibility for the supervision of students and junior members of the team. To engage own continued professional development (CPD) and service development, in conjunction with the Band 7 and Clinical Lead. To participate in the therapy 7 day service rota.

An exciting opportunity has arisen based at the Northwick Park Hospital site of London North West University Hospitals NHS Trust to help lead the Stroke & Neuro Service as part of the acute Trust. The successful applicant will support leading an MDT team including Band 5 and 6s and therapy technicians. The role will be across both Northwick Park & at times Ealing Hospital. The applicant will need considerable clinical experience in Neurology, as well as experience of managing other staff and students. Strong interpersonal skills will be required as well as the ability to lead a team and the drive and enthusiasm to develop the service. The successful applicant will be supported by the Band 8a and Band 8b Team lead, and a supportive multi-disciplinary team. The post will allow you to develop your therapeutic, interdisciplinary and management skills.
