Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cardiothoracic Physiotherapist to lead and deliver high-quality physiotherapy care across cardiothoracic critical care, theatre recovery, cardiothoracic surgical and cardiology wards within the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. This is an exciting role within the multidisciplinary team, where advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and service development skills will be essential., The post holder will be responsible for:
assessment, treatment, and management of patients with complex acute cardiology conditions, as well as patients pre/post cardiac and thoracic surgerymanagement of patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditionsprovision of specialist input in the critical care environment, supporting patients with ventilation, secretion clearance, rehabilitationprovision of specialist physiotherapy input on cardiology and cardiothoracic wards, supporting patients with chest clearance, rehabilitation, post-operative exercise/advice and complex discharge planningdelivery of prehabilitation services to patients waiting cardiac surgery
clinical supervision and support of junior staff, including contribution to teaching and training
Line management of junior therapy staff and students (including attendance, performance, disciplinary management)
support service evaluation and improvement initiatives
ensure delivery of evidence-based practice and contribute to service excellence across the cardiothoracic physiotherapy pathway
deputise for Integrated Therapy Lead as required
