Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the pharmacy services to our regional rheumatology service at Oxford University Hospitals. You will work closely with regional and national colleagues to develop a patient focussed whole systems approach. This role offers the chance to bridge the gap between clinical practice and service development and to push the boundaries of a traditional clinical pharmacy service to meet the needs of an ever-growing outpatient speciality. You will have the opportunity to influence practice beyond Trust level, via regional MDTs and national rheumatology pharmacy networks., 1. To support and deputise for the divisional pharmacist for NOTSSCan and manage, strategically lead, develop and coordinate the rheumatology pharmacy team in the provision of a safe, effective and efficient clinical pharmacy service to rheumatology and the wider TOR directorate.

2. To ensure safe and effective use of rheumatology medicines within the TOR directorate through provision of medicines related aspects of patient care, promoting economy and improvements in quality, safety and cost effectiveness, and medicines optimisation.

3. Be an active member of the OUHNHSFT homecare user group and actively contribute to the homecare medicines agenda

4. To ensure all appropriate members of the TOR pharmacy team are trained and competent in relation to rheumatology

5. To accept case referrals for medicines optimisation in complex rheumatology patients, when other professionals may challenge advice

6. To act as a mentor and role model as a expert clinical pharmacist, manager and leader in the area of rheumatology locally, regionally and nationally.

7. To use innovation to support effective patient outcomes, safety and experience aligned with the national agenda; improve cost effectivess and support the QI agenda

8. To lead and develop education and training in rheumatology across the health economy

9. To lead, undertake and supervise and publish research in relevant rheumatology jounrals
