Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - September 2026

The Supply Register is working in partnership with the Odyssey Collaborative Trust to recruit an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a primary school in Derby.
This is a full-time role starting in September and is ideal for a confident and experienced HLTA who enjoys supporting pupils across the primary age range while working closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
About the Role
As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work alongside class teachers, deliver targeted interventions, and provide classroom cover when required.
The successful candidate will be a positive role model for pupils and will contribute to creating a supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities
+ Provide whole-class cover when required
+ Lead small-group and intervention sessions
+ Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
+ Promote positive behaviour and engagement
+ Work closely with teachers and school leaders
+ Support pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate

+ Previous experience working within a UK primary school
+ HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
+ Confidence leading a class independently
+ Strong behaviour management and communication skills
+ A proactive and flexible approach
+ A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
