Full Job Description
As an HLTA at Clannad School, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across our provision. You will work closely with teachers and the wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver engaging, personalised sessions that meet the diverse needs of our pupils.
No two days are the same. You will support children and young people who may face barriers to mainstream education, requiring a flexible, creative, and therapeutic approach to learning. Your contribution will be vital in helping learners build confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve their individual potential.
Our Approach
At Clannad School, we are committed to trauma-informed practice, ensuring every young person feels safe, valued, and understood. You will work within a supportive therapeutic model, with access to ongoing training, reflective practice, and professional development opportunities.
We support children who may have experienced disruption or challenges in their education, so we are looking for individuals who are resilient, compassionate, and passionate about making a positive impact.
Working With Us
In this role, you will:
Support and deliver high-quality learning sessions
Create safe, nurturing environments tailored to individual needs
Contribute to a broad and flexible curriculum, including academic, vocational, and therapeutic elements
Work collaboratively within a skilled multi-disciplinary team
Provide consistent, child-centred support to help young people thrive
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good IT and organisational skills
Confidence working with children, families, and professionals
Effective listening and de-escalation skills
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Right to work in the UK
Experience in specialist or alternative education is advantageous, but we welcome candidates with transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
