Full Job Description

You will oversee the effective organisation and prioritisation of workflow within the chemotherapy day unit (CDU) working accurately, efficiently to agreed standards and departmental procedures ensuring work targets are met.

You will also be expected to work closely with the clinical and aseptic pharmacy teams, clinicians, nursing staff and Rowlands outpatient pharmacy supporting the CDU. You will perform various aspects of a clinical pharmacy service where appropriate; this may include, but will not be limited to, stock management, supply of supportive medications, medicines reconciliation and counselling of patients and their medications. There will be times the post holder may be required to escalate complex activities that require allocation of duties, such as stock shortages of oral SACT, which may need communication with procurement for alternative sources, or with consultants for change of plans with treatment; this will require communicating back to the patients.

Support with training and ongoing support/competency assessment will be provided by the Responsible Pharmacist for Technical Services, Advanced Clinical Prescribing Pharmacist and Specialist Pharmacy Technicians for Cancer Services and Aseptic Services.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.

Should we receive a high volume of applications the advert may be closed earlier than stated.
