Higher Craftsperson - Day - Electrician Biased

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Swansea Bay University Health Board, Estates Department for a highly motivated individual to fulfil an Estates Crafts-person Engineering role.

The post will be based at Singleton Hospital and will support all other Health Board premises within the Singleton Estates Unit.

The role demands that the individual has an extensive knowledge of engineering systems (multi discipline) and building services preferably within the Health Care Sector.

The individuals should have a proven track record of fault finding, carrying out pre-planned maintenance in both an electrical and mechanical setting. Fully understanding the legal implications surrounding statutory compliance and engineering governance.

There will be a requirement to participate in an On-Call service.

Main duties of the job

To provide a safe, secure and pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Provide multi-skilled engineering expertise across various electrical and mechanical equipment and fabric. Ensure maintenance tasks are fulfilled to appropriate levels of quality in a compliant manner recording actions through helpdesk software via tablets

Maintenance and repair on a range of Industrial, Commercial, Domestic, and Plant equipment.

Typical areas of work include the following:

Power/Lighting circuits

Low voltage switchgear

Fire alarm systems

Emergency Generators and associated switchgear

Battery systems and uninterruptable power supplies

Air conditioning equipment and controls, including theatre AHU

Heating controls, boiler controls and associated equipment

Lift release

Portable equipment

Nurse call and cardiac arrest systems

Catering equipment

Gas fired commercial and steam heated equipment

Boiler house Industrial Steam Boilers - gas and oil fired combustion equipment

Industrial air plant and pneumatic control

Building Management Systems - BMS

Monitoring and inspections of PLC controllers

Heating and Hot Water controls, boiler controls and associated equipment

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
