Full Job Description
Good communication skills and informed clinical judgement are vital to the role. It is imperative that you can provide evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem and are able to demonstrate an understanding of how anxiety and depression present in Primary Care. You should have a real interest in helping people with anxiety and depression to achieve a level of recovery which will improve their overall wellbeing and day to day life.
You will join a team of CBT Therapists, Counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. You will be responsible for assessing patient suitability and delivering evidenced based CBT interventions. The post is managed and supervised within the IAPT service with some specialist supervision for Long Term Conditions.
Applicants must be BABCP accredited, unless qualified within past 12 months then you must have your provisional accreditation in place and have experience of working in Primary care mental health services for adults.
The service works core 9-5 hours but offers patient therapy between the hours of 8am-8pm Monday to Friday, and in future on Saturday mornings. Candidates should be prepared to work flexibly to meet service needs within these hours. Preferably, 60% of the working week will be office based and 40% worked remotely.
